Thanks for everything

I began using Apple computers a long time ago, in a small publishing department. I went on to use Quark, then Adobe software, eventually started illustrating on the computer and have gone on — and on — from there. The trajectory of my work and life has been substantially affected by Steve Jobs and Apple.

My first Mac was a Centris 650. I’ve had quite a few since then — nine, all told? Nine so far. Last evening, I read about Steve’s death on my iPad2. My iPhone absolutely changed my life two years ago. What Apple and Steve have done for us all in the past few years — the way Steve has transformed how more and more of us live, work, create and communicate — has been simply/insanely amazing. In the early days, there were only a few of us dedicated (and stubborn) Apple users. Now it’s literally millions upon millions.

Steve, you were a singular force. I trust Apple will go on amazing us and empowering us to create, to do, to make great stuff and maybe to live a bit better.

My thoughts are with his Apple colleagues, his friends, and his family.
