2 illos in The Scientist. (Nice Mice... and It's Alive!)

Lisa Modica, Associate AD at The Scientist, emailed me with this sweet little job: illustrations to accompany recent significant quotes in the scientific world. She asked me to illustrate a quote on creating new life in a genetics lab and to choose one of the others.

One of the quotes concerned empathy in mice and, well, that was that!

This was FUN. Thank you to the magazine and to Lisa. (Oh, and the mag arrived today — it’s a gorgeous publication.)

As a member of the species felis catus, it has often been difficult to explain to other members of my species why I, yours truly, Mz Paws, would never -- oh my dear tail -- ever so much as THINK of eating another living thing, including a mouse. Your lovely illustration proves my point, and is, of course, worth a thousand words.
Always your,
Mz Paws
