Design and web design

I'm beginning work on a fairly large web project, finishing up a smaller one. I'll post updates as I can.

Raising Women's Voices commissioned me to do a cartoon depicting the Senates bizarre rules for women's health reform. The cartoon was a smash hit, and now women's groups around the country are printing up postcards to send to Congress. See the cartoon. (I did their web makeover too.)

After a fairly slow year the pace is picking up (has been since the Fall). That means it's a good time for a new mailing, so I expect to get that going by the end of January. (Ha. Still on the back burner.)

Welcome, you’re at my new site!

as I find the time.

I’ve combined my illustration portfolio and my web/design site, after a period of weighing pros and cons. I’ve also been building from scratch on the Squarespace platform (see below).

I suppose I wondered if magazine art directors or design clients might think I was spread too thin. But I think, or hope, that putting it all together makes me more dimensional, more of a person. I’m convinced there’s a lot of cross pollination inherent in wearing multiple hats. I’ve found it to be so.

What’s this “Squarespace” thing?

Squarespace is a website host / Content Management System that allows as much customization as you can code, and scripting too. The creamy filling: my clients make their own day-to-day updates. Saves time, money and hassle, and that's good for everyone. A good fit for individuals, businesses and organizations. Choose a template and wade in, or have your site customized. I’ve been putting clients on Squarespace for a year and they love it. New from Squarespace: a very neat iPhone app for blogging, and more, while mobile.
